Tony Koehl has been fortunate enough to have been able to work in the movie industry for a while, donating his creative visions to movies such as Van Helsing, Timber falls, Skin Walkers, Pirates of the Caribbean and to television shows such as Charmed. However, most of his commissioned work has been in the music scene. He began creating album art for the extreme metal genre and has since then gained more notoriety through the scene. Creating hundreds of album covers since 1997, from bands like Black Dahlia Murder, Job For A Cowboy, Waking The Cadaver, Rings Of Saturn, and Putrid Pile to name a few. Tony Koehl has been able to create a name for him-self in a sector of music he has enjoyed since his youth. Some other clients have been Pusifer and Maynard James Keenan for his wine label Caduceus.
Asides from creating album cover art, Tony Koehl has also showcased his art throughout Southern California, New York and Japan. Varying from classic art galleries to underground shows, Tony Koehl’s art has been viewed and enjoyed by a large variety of people throughout the globe. Although Tony Koehl’s artistic palate caters to the darker content, his ability to create a diverse range of art has helped him gain a much larger fan base, to which he is truly grateful for.
To reach even more people Tony Koehl started doing live art in 2003 to inspire and influence people to make more art for themselves. He has done live art for festivals such as Lighting in A Bottle, Lucidity, Musink, Desert Hearts, Serenity Gathering, Suspended in a Sunbeam, Indigo Vortex, etc. Tony Koehl is also the 1st artist to bring live art to the extreme music scene, festivals such as Las Vegas death fest, Building Temples From Death, Foothill Gutfest, O.C. Death fest, Murderfest, Rock The Hell, Bay Area Death Fest, West Coast Death fest, the list keeps growing.
From there he also co founded Art Temple, which is an interactive expereince that is brought to festivals, shows, events and gatherings to allow people a safe and inspirational environment to tap back into their creative selves. Art Temple provides free art supplies, demos and workshops for all attendees.
In 2007 he started the band Fishing For Neptune which he plays drums for, after fourteen years the bands debut album was released on March of 2021 titled “Get Hooked”.
As a son of a Taxidermist “Koehl’s Taxidermy Reno NV”, Tony Koehl has been exposed to leather and leather working at a young age, and now he has made many leather items from, harnesses, bracers, masks, apparel, paddles, restrains, and many other items that you can find under the Dress The Soul banner.
